Are there computers and printers in the Library?

Answer

Yes, there are a number of desktop computers available for students to use throughout the Library. PCs are available in the Large and Small Training Rooms, on the ground floor, and on second floor. Dual monitors are available in The Edge.

You just need to sign into the PC with your UL Student ID and password.

The computers in the Large and Small training rooms and Postgraduate Study Room now have updated Endnote, IBM SPSS and NVivo software.

If there is a problem with the computer, please contact ITD by logging a call on TopDesk or emailing service.deskitd@ul.ie.

Students can also borrow laptops for up to 4 hours from our LapSafe Lockers. These laptops are for library use only and accessed with a Student ID card. Please ensure you return the laptop to the correct locker and that it is plugged into charge. More information can be found at this link (URL: https://www.ul.ie/library/borrow-a-laptop). If there is a problem with the laptop, please contact ITD by logging a call on TopDesk or emailing service.deskitd@ul.ie.

Printers are available for registered UL Undergraduate Students and Staff in the Library on the ground floor and on Level 1 in the Print Room. Postgraduates cannot print in the Library, and must do so in their Department building. Information on how to print is available on ITD's website: https://www.ul.ie/itd/student-it-services/student-printing-service.
